Tinto de Verano’s
Last week I went to a fabulous 50th Wedding Anniversary party at the Pleasantdale Chateau (OMG that place is UNREAL). I am still full from the party actually. Anyways, each guest got delicious chocolate and a mini bottle of Real Sangria which is imported from Spain. I have seen these bottles before and I never buy pre-made Sangria because I like to make mine extra strong, hehe. Sometimes the store bought sangrias taste WAY too sweet. Yesterday was a beautiful day though and I decided to try it over ice and I added club soda to it. Immediately I thought of Spain and their Tinto de Verano drink. Some places it would taste fabulous and refreshing while other places added sprite or lemonade and the wine was way too sweet. This was all I drank during the day in Spain. My friends ended up spending way less than I did since they enjoy beer and you can get $2.00 beers pretty much all day. If you want a refreshing drink for the summer – I would recommend this. You can also add a lacroix lemon club soda to it! The Real Sangria was actually really good with the club. It has a bold orange flavor and I would buy it again to make the Tinto de Verano’s. Tinto de Verano or Summer Wine is another of the popular drinks to quench your thirst during the hot Spanish summer. It’s so popular that many of the top soft drink brands actually sell ready made bottles of Tinto de Verano and many bars and restaurants actually have it on tap.
Ingredients:
- Red wine
- Casera lemonade is the original mixer but Sprite of Fanta Lemon are also great options (Club soda or Lemon LaCroix Club to make it less sweet)
- Slice of lemon
- Lots of ice!
Preparation
Fill a glass up with ice and pour in red wine to about a third of the glass. Fill the rest with the lemonade or lemon and serve with a slice of lemon.
