Speakeasys in Jersey City
You don’t have to cross the river to find a cozy speakeasy in Jersey City. There are a few of these secret bars tucked away in Jersey City that are the perfect venues to take refuge from the cold while enjoying a cocktail, getting cozy with friends, or indulging in warm delicious food. We’ll let you in on our three favorite hidden gems that you’ll want to check out (if you haven’t already): Dullboy, PS Wine Bar and Miss Wongs.
Dullboy – This speakeasy is known for their craft cocktails, dinners and eccentric ambiance. On their drink menu they have 10 signature cocktails, 10 classic cocktails and serve wine by the glass. If you follow them on social media (@dullboybar) then you know each drink is made with love and lots of flavor! Two of their signature cocktails we suggest sipping on are the “The Kayla” (grand cognac champagne reserve cocktail with blood peach and blood orange bitters) for an enjoyable day time drink and “The Grazia (Kinahans Irish whiskey, Maurin Quina, cola syrup, orange & lemon juice, egg white) for a cold winter evening.
PS Wine Bar – Located in the cellar of Pet Shop, PS Wine Bar offers organic wines, craft beers and vegetarian/vegan fare. We are a huge fan of their Buffalo Cauliflower (crispy cauliflower florets tossed in traditional buffalo sauce. Served with vegan ranch, carrots, and celery). They also have monthly wine tasting classes and live music.
Miss Wongs –Every Thursday – Saturday, Talde opens up their underground speakeasy bar where you’ll find a dance floor, DJ’s and a signature cocktail menu. It’s dimly lit and provides some seating but once the DJ comes on, most people hit the dance floor. Check Miss Wong’s Instagram page (@misswongsjc) for weekly posts on upcoming events and DJ’s.
